  • What is the difference between pre-finished and unfinished flooring?
Pre-finished flooring is exactly as it sounds: it comes ready to install with a protective finish already applied. Unfinished flooring, on the other hand, requires finishing work after installation. The main advantage of pre-finished flooring is the convenience - you can have your new floors installed quickly and without the mess and inconvenience of applying a finish afterward. While conventional thinking would assume unfinished flooring is thought to offer more customization options, like color-matching, custom patterns, and a range of finishes, the Haute Plank Collection offers as many, if not more features and options than traditional unfinished hardwood.
  • What is the difference between engineered flooring and laminate flooring?
With so many flooring options on the market, it is important to understand the key differences between them. Engineered wood flooring is made of real wood, albeit in a cleverly constructed layered design; whereas laminate flooring is a synthetic product made of several materials fused together. While both types of flooring may be durable and easy to maintain, engineered wood tends to be a bit pricier but offers a more authentic wood look and feel, while laminate is often more budget-friendly and readily available at most big box stores. Ultimately, the best choice for your home will depend on your budget, aesthetic preferences, and lifestyle needs.
  • What is your warranty?
HAUTE PLANK® offers a Limited Structural Integrity Warranty for as long as you own your floor. Full warranty information is available for digital download.
  • What is engineered hardwood?
Engineered wood is a unique type of flooring material that offers the beauty and durability of hardwood floors, but with added benefits. Unlike traditional hardwood, engineered hardwood is made up of layers of wood that are bonded together with adhesive. This construction method provides improved stability and durability, making it resistant to warping and swelling. And because it is made from real wood, engineered flooring offers a gorgeous, natural appearance that can add warmth and style to any room in your home. For new home builds or upgrading existing floors, engineered wood flooring is definitely an option worth considering.
  • What species of wood do you carry?
HAUTE PLANK® offers 3 collections made exclusively of European Oak born from some of the finest and ecologically-responsible mills in Spain, the Netherlands, and Belgium. Often referred to as 'White Oak,' European Oak is distinctly different from North American White Oak. European Oak is often prized for its unique, tight grain pattern and warm golden hue. It's also known for its durability and resistance to moisture, making it a popular choice for flooring and furniture. Conversely, White Oak has a more consistent grain pattern and tends to be slightly lighter in color than its European counterpart. In addition to newly milled hardwood, our Belgium Collection also features a line of unique reclaimed wood wagon board including 4 different color ways, varying widths, and 10' length.
  • What is your typical lead time?
Generally, HAUTE PLANK® hardwood flooring is made-to-order and requires a 12 to 16 week lead time. Our Spain Collection offers 12 standard colors with a lead time as short as 10 to 14 days. Custom color, size, and finish options within the Spain Collection requires a longer lead time.
  • Do you ship to residential addresses?
Yes, provided the transport trucks can safely reach the destination and arrangements are made ahead of time to unload and receive your shipment. Keep in mind, some residential streets, neighborhoods, or driveways are difficult for large delivery vehicles to access and may require alternative arrangements for offloading the shipment. Please contact us directly to discuss your personal circumstances.
